ISPP Secondary Technology Support

I live in a nice neighbourhood where everybody has a big strong metal fence all around their property. My next door neighbour used to have three tiny little dogs living inside his fence: a mother, a father, and a baby. I believe that these dogs were there to keep strangers away. Or possibly to keep my cats away. Regardless of their purpose, they barked at everyone. For a long time. As loudly as they could. I watched them for months. I noticed that when no one was looking, they played together, and that sometimes they spread out and took luxurious naps. I noticed that they were cute when they weren't barking. Every time I passed, even though they barked at me, I made nice noises to them and told them it's okay. One day a neighbour boy showed me that he could put his hand up to the fence and the biggest of the tiny dogs would smell his hand. The Hour of Code  and the Weeks of Code are coming, and we are excited to see what you will do! Special thanks to Mr. Matt for the original 2017 ISPP Hour of Code design! This year we will have a special challenge for all ISPP students to blog about their completed Hour of Code activities to receive a score based on the criteria below. All students scoring 8 points or above will be named ISPP Code Champions, and will be invited to join together for a celebratory lunch after the break. All students that participate will receive an Hour of Code Certificate. Some classes will be given class time to work on their coding activities, but you are also encouraged to Code in your free time, and to join us on Thursday 7 December in the Knowledge Centre for our whole community Hour of Code event. One purpose of blogging is to connect with others, and in order to connect, we can subscribe to each other's blogs! Once subscribed, we can read and comment on blogs to support and encourage one another. Check out this post on how to write a blog comment! The subscribe button will look differently depending on which template you are using. To add the subscribe / follow gadget, go to your blog settings and choose Layout. In Layout, you can check to see if the gadget is there and hidden. If if is, you can click edit and make it visible. If the gadget is not there, you can choose 'add a gadget' and choose the Follow by Email gadget. Here is a video to help you

This post will guide you through using Google Slides and iMovie to make a movie-book. Step 1: Write your story and gather your media.  You can use images you find in a creative commons image search , or make your own images by taking photographs, sketching and photographing your sketches, or editing images using programs like Piktochart  or Pixlr . Step 2: Use Google Slides to craft your book pages Use right click and 'order' to change the layering of your images and text boxes.  Use the formatting tools to change your font, text size, text colour, and even the colour of your textbox  You can also change the background, theme, and layout  When your pages are ready, choose File--> Download as-->JPEG.
