ManageBac for ISPP Students

Here is a quick tour of the new ManageBac user interface (UI). If you notice any issues, you can always contact Ms. Chelsea by email, or you can contact ManageBac Support by clicking on the Help and Support link at the top right of the page.

When you first log in you will be in your Dashboard:
  • You can click on your name (top right) to view your profile and change your password.
  • You can see your Dashboard with your calendar and the upcoming events and deadlines for the next few weeks.
  • On the left is your navigation menu with links to sections of your ManageBac.

I will now go through the options in the left hand navigation menu in the order in which they appear.

When you click on Calendar:
  • You can choose to view by month or week and you can scroll through the calendar.
  • At the bottom of the page, you can add a personal event and you can subscribe to the calendar.
  • To add your ManageBac Calendar to your Google Calendar, check out this blog post.
  • You can click on each event to view the details. You can also post a message (if you have a question, related comment, or helpful resource), and you can view the photo, name, and email address of the author of the event.
When you click on IB Manager:

The IB Manager Section will be different depending on which Grade you are in. Here you will find IB related sections such as CAS / SA, Personal Project, Extended Essay, TOK, DP Plan, Calendar, Files, Messages, and Members (which will show you all members of your grade).

When you click on CAS / SA:

  • scroll down to the very bottom to see important links

Here are the options under IB Manager for DP and MYP (Personal Project for Grades 9 and 10 only).

Next is the Academics section. The first option is Timetables.

When you click on Timetable:
  • You can click on any class in the timetable to view the complete class details including assignments.
  • You can download a pdf of your timetable by clicking download PDF at the top right. Please note that the times for days 5 and 10 (Fridays) are incorrect due to the limitations of the scheduling software.
  • You can view your timetable for future dates by clicking on the calendar. Please note that there may be incorrect information following non-timetable days such as Week Without Walls due to limitations of the scheduling software.

When you click on Classes:
  • A complete list of your classes will appear as a drop down list.
  • Click on any class to view the class details. You will see a list of tabs at the top of the page.
  • Overview shows your calendar, upcoming events and deadlines, latest activity, the course description, and the days and times for the class.
  • Assignments shows a list of assignments, a grade summary once you have assessed work, and the feedback that you received for each assignment. You need to choose which semester you would like to view at the top right. Please note that there is no data for Semesters from past years. This is something that ManageBac is working on.
  • To upload an assignment click on the assignment title and then scroll down to the Dropbox (this will only appear if the teacher has enabled the dropbox). You can also click on the unit title to see how the assignment is related to the unit.
  • If you have already uploaded the assignment and it has been graded, you will see the feedback. You will also see any documents that you uploaded, and if your teacher annotated the document(s) with feedback, you can click on the 'Annotate" link to view the feedback.
  • Units shows a list of units for the class. You can click on unit titles to see more details.
  • Calendar shows the calendar for the selected class only. To view your complete calendar, click on Calendar under Dashboard.
  • Messages shows you messages for the selected class only. You can also post a message to the class.
  • Files shows you files uploaded to the class. Most often teachers will share files using your class folder in Google Drive.
  • Members shows you a list with the names and lovely school photos of all the students in the class.
When you click on Portfolio:
  • You will see a list of classes. If you click on a class, you will see any files you have uploaded to that class.
  • You can also upload files.
  • We are not using this section as a portfolio.
When you click on reports you will see a list of all reports that you have received at ISPP.

When you click on Reflections you will see reflections you have written for your report card. You cannot see reflections from past years, but we hope ManageBac will include these in the future.

When you click on Groups:
  • You will see a list of groups you are in.
  • You can join more groups.
  • If you click on a group, you can see the following details about the group by clicking on the tabs:

If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know!
Ms. Chelsea
