Embedding Slideshows in Blogger
You might not know it, but when you put a photo into a Blogger post, it automatically gets uploaded to a Picasa Web Album.
Picasa is Google's image editing and sharing platform, and it exists as both a website and software you can install to manage photos on your computer. Because we are using Google Apps accounts for many of our day-to-day needs, you already have an account for the Picasa website. If you use Blogger, you likely have photos there already! Check it out!

GUIDE: How to embed a Picasa slideshow in a Blogger post!
- Upload photos to a new album.
Under My Photos, click the upload button. Make sure to give your album a name! Perhaps the name of your iPhoto event, if you used my previous guide for shrinking photo file sizes. - Select the photos you want to be in the slideshow.
Only upload photos to this album if you want them to be displayed as part of your slideshow. - Make the album public.
After the photos are finished uploading, open the new album in My Photos to see the pictures. Click the Actions menu and select Album properties.
- Create the slideshow!
When you are looking at the album, to the right of the screen, you will see a link called Link to this album. When clicked, it provides you with a second link, Embed Slideshow. Click that!
Choose the size for your slideshow. Medium or large work best for Blogger.
In the Embed Slideshow box is the HTML that you need to copy over to your Blogger post. - Copy the HTML into your Blogger post.
Select all the HTML from the above Embed Slideshow box and use the Command ⌘+C (Ctrl + C in Windows) to copy it for use on Blogger.
Choose a spot to put the slideshow. To make it easy, usually at the beginning or the end of your post HTML is a good starting point. Use Command ⌘+V (Ctrl + V in Windows) to paste the HTML you copied from Picasa into your blogger post.
Now you can safely return to the Compose view by clicking the link in the top left of your screen. You won't be able to see the slideshow in the compose view, but there will be a blank space where the image is that you can select if you want to center it or move it around. You'll just have to click preview or publish it to see the results!
