ManageBac for ISPP Parents

ManageBac has updated the parent access view! While we understand that updates are confusing, we are pleased with this update for one very important reason: the layout of the parent view is now the same for parents of PYP, MYP, and DP students. We also find this layout more intuitive, because you can navigate the site by selecting what you would like to view in the black menu bar along the left of the page.

Please remember that we use ManageBac for assignments, grading, and messages for students in Secondary. We do not use these for students in Elementary in order to better meet the developmental needs of our Elementary and Secondary students.
  1. Go to https://ispp.managebac.com
  2. Logging in: your email is the contact email you provided to the school. If you do not know your password, you can click on 'Forgot your password?' and enter your email. A password reset link will be emailed to you.  If you do not know which email you gave to the school, please contact the office.
  3. At the top left of the page, you will see your child's name. If you have more than one child at ISPP, click on your child's name to select your other child(ren). You can only view the ManageBac information for one child at a time.
  4. On the main page, you will see key information for that child including: homegroup teacher, key contacts, and profile information (some fields are blank). If your child is in Secondary, you will also see a calendar with events and deadlines for that child, a list of events and deadlines, and latest activity. If there is an 'i' in a circle on an event, you can hover over it to get more information. To view messages listed in "Latest Activity," click on messages in the left menu bar. We are not currently using messages and events for Elementary as this is less developmentally appropriate for our younger students.

  5. On the left menu bar, you will see that you are in Overview (the text is white). You can also see the list of other general information that you can view.
  6. When you click on Calendar, you will see the full calendar for the selected child. The calendar only includes information about academics and groups for Secondary students. This is not the ISPP Calendar. There is also a link for subscribing to your child's ManageBac calendar so you can add it to your calendar, as well as a color coded key for events on the calendar.

  7. When you click on Attendance, you can see your child's attendance records. If your child is going to miss school, you can also create an absence with the "Submit attendance excusal" button on the right side of the screen. When you create an attendance excusal here, the school office receives a notification and you do not need to call the office.
  8. When you click on Messages, you will see a list including your child's grade group and all classes your child is in. Select a class or the grade group to see messages that have been sent to your child.
  9. Next in the left menu bar you will see the Academics section.

  10. If you click on Progress, you will see a list of your child's classes. If you click on a class title, you will see the tasks and units for that class. You will also see assessment feedback and links to the files your child has uploaded.
  11. If you click on Timetables you can view your child's timetable for Secondary only. We do not use the timetable for Elementary as their teachers take them to specialist classes.
  12. If you click on Portfolio you will see your child's uploaded files (Secondary only) and in some cases the school may upload a file for your child.
  13. If you click on Reports, you can view official reports that have been published for your child during your child's time at ISPP.
  14. In the final section of the left menu bar, you will see information for ISPP Parents.
  15. If you click on Overview in ISPP Parents, you will see the latest activity, and on the right, you will see a list of important links. This is where you will find links to the handbooks and other important information.
  16. We do not use the calendar at the calendar link, as we use a Google calendar. You can see the link to our calendar in Overview on the right (see image above).
  17. If you click on Messages, you can see all messages that have been sent to ISPP parents. Note that you will only see messages that have been sent to parents with children in the same grade as your children. In the image below, we see a message that was sent to PYP parents only.
  18. We do not use Files, as we prefer to use links which you can find on the right under Overview (see image above).

We value your input as we develop our use of ManageBac. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions or suggestions. I am also happy to meet with you and help you navigate the site!
