Google Forms to Quiz yourself, your friends, or your students

You can use Google forms to make quizzes to practice questions with one right answer. 


  • Using data validation, you can enter a correct answer
  • When the form is being used, answers will not be accepted until they are correct 
  • Shuffle question order for more fun
  • Complete the form multiple times to keep practicing
  • Review data on who has completed, and how many times.
  • For a speed test, you can check time between completions of the form.

Step by step instructions:

Go to Drive and click new--> Form

Enter a title and instructions
Click on the down arrow next to Multiple Choice and choose Short Answer
Enter your question text, and click on the three dots at the bottom right
Choose Data Validation
Choose Regular Expression | Matches | enter the correct answer in the space for 'Pattern' | Enter an error message in the space for 'custom error text.
Choose duplicate to copy your question and edit the question and pattern / correct answer.
Go to Settings, the gear at the top right

Select:
Enter a message for when they submit their practice

Select:

and:
Click Save

To get a record of how often you or your students have practiced, click on Responses and click the spreadsheet icon to create a spreadsheet


Check the name and click create:
All of the answers will always be right, but keeping track of number and speed of submissions is interesting data.
